The schedule for this course has been planned to give you plenty of time to orient to this type of study. Drawing is a rigorous form of creative research that has a lexicon of its own. It is an extremely flexible form, and students are offered great latitude in the application of thier learning in the final project. Please take note of the flow of the course so that you can understand the expectations in line with the calendar.

| 5-7 | Introduction of drawing modes in exercises; use of a variety of timed drawings, introduction of the figure | Observation: Perspective, proportion, scale, weight, balance; inks, powdered media |
| 8-10 | Continuation with the figure, durational drawing sessions; Staging and lighting | Composition, experimentation, mixed media |
| 10-14 | Continuation with the figure for personal project work | The learning up to this point is applied directly for the project. Students control the project through intentional choices for materials, surfaces and composition of the figure. |
